Fraud

I have signed up to a free trial and now they have taken money out of my account, which I have not authorised. Is this fraud? No, this is not fraud. Free trial merchants request card details when you sign up and their terms and conditions state if you do not unsubscribe by a certain time, they will debit your account. This will continue unless you unsubscribe.

A family member or friend has used my card without my permission, can I get my money back as I did not authorise the transaction? Unfortunately not, this is a civil matter and you would have to dispute it with the person that made the purchases or advise the police.
